the memories.

was searching through my computer and some websites for my old waterpolo pictures to put in to my english oral defence, and some dead and buried memories and feelings suddenly cropped up again. i really feel as if i have something missing from my life nowadays when i dont go to waterpolo training anymore, when i just spend my time on mondays, tuesdays, wednesdays, and fridays at the gym or at home having a short nap. it really is different, and somehow, it aint right.

i remember this time last year, when we were already training 4 or 5 times a week to keep our dreams of winning the gold for ri alive. everyday i would reach home at least 6+ in the evening and struggle to do my work because i would come back from training feeling very exhausted and fatigued.

perhaps, we look at our results (4th for nationals) and wonder to ourselves, was all the hours, days and months we put in for training really worth it? if you asked me then, i would say, definitely, it was worth it. you ask me now, and i would still give you the same answer, yes, it has been definitely bloody worth it.

found this while searching through RInspire (our school magazine) for my articles on sailing and waterpolo, and indeed, as tom said, we raffles waterpolo team of 2007, really are one huge family, working together towards that dream of finally lifting that cup.

haha okay enough random rambling from me, so let me just conclude this short moment of reflection with a picture.

come on say it with me! who are sitting proudly atop the english premier league table now? huh? who? who?

hahaha its newcastle united of course! with a 3-1 win at reebok stadium, home to bolton, in the bag, the premiership's top position is finally ours! hahaha and i remember the last time we topped the premiership back in season 03-04, we finished an eventual third in the premiership, qualifying for europe. now isnt that a good omen or what!

big sam's methods are working! wheeee! and he has instillled a new belief in the squad, getting people who will work for their wages, like geremi, barton and smith just to name a few.

and he has also finally tried out zoggy at left back, something i have wanted roeder to do for a very long time. hahaha he looked stable out there so thats great! perhaps he could provide jose enrique with some good competition for that position. haha

zoggy played super well today too. he scored one and created another for oba. and oba scored two, including an emphatic bicycle kick! yay!

omg im so excited. hahaha howay the lads! and 07-08 will be our season to shine! yay for newcastle!

haahha i think the national day song this year is quite weird, considering how the whole song does not even mention the word "singapore", not once at all. hahaha i think last year's "Home" was much nicer lor! especially cos they were performed by little kids.. AWW SO CUTE! hahaha and sorry to disappoint many out there, but i do nothave paedophilic tendencies :'(

haha ahh im tired i shall go sleep. i have watched simpsons and rushed hour 3 these past two days! both movies were a blast i tell you. simpsons just got me out of my seat with laughter and its political humour, and rush hour 3 was all chris tucker man. that guy is one fantastic talk cock king la. hahaha

i think we did well for cross country yesterday, i surmise that we should either be getting a 1st or 2nd placing. haha results not out yet, but i was standing and stoning like 300m away from the finish line the whole day, so more or less i can estimate la. hahaha

yesterday i was standing at 300m away from the finish line and waving the flag and telling any bayleyeans running past who would listen that it was 100m more to sprint and stuff like that HAHAHA but actually it was 300m so they just sprinted thinking it was 100m and pushed themselves for 300m, i think like that they improved a few placings. :D and it was quite ironic that moor set up camp 100m behind me, saying that left 200m (which was the truth). hahha

so anyway great job bayleyeans, we did well yesterday! :D




and on a separate note, newcastle united transfer dealings have gone up a notch! we captured alan smith on a 6mil pound transfer last night.

and no matter what others say about alan smith, this lad is genuinely a player who gives his 100%, and more, for his club, and is always the first to take one for the club. haha i like these kind of players and i hope he does well at newcastle.


plus, we got cacapa (ex lyon captain) on a free transfer.

this guy is definitely bound to improve our defence and share some invaluable experiences with our up and coming young star steven taylor. hahaha so i think he will be a fantastic signing for the short term future.


and latest news in: we are on the verge of capturing the signing of villareal's young spanish gem in left back jose enrique sanchez for a reported fee of 4m pounds.

hahaha wheeee! now all of newcastle's problems are solved! yay! i watched this guy play for villareal before and my word, is he good. very promising, but perhaps lacking a little in experience. definitely a potential spanish full international in the future. haahha YAY!



and of course, as everyone heard, kieron dyer wants to leave newcastle. i dont know whats all the hype and speculation for. he wants to leave, then leave la! if it makes things any easier, i wouldnt mind going to newcastle and helping him pack his bags and leave for west ham, that club that takes in newcastle losers and rejects. just go already!

i hope this means exactly what it says. i hope dyer's newcastle journey ends here, that loser!

second last sports event for the year, so full speed ahead! please bayleyeans, do us all proud by running your hardest because if we do well, house championship is definitely in sight!

but i cant run.. doctor's orders. my feet are super bad condition so i guess well that's that. hahaha anyway im a really slow runner just couldnt cut it on land la. hahaah so...

haha i very long never blog already, so long that my history doesnt even have www.blogger.com hahha. alot of things have happened since the last time i blogged, which was a really long time ago, and hahaha i guess im now quite dying in school with lots of work to catch up after that "regrettably missing those 4 days of school to sail in the school's colours for sailing nationals".

haha and about sailing nationals, i was really excited about it because i guess it was really my last chance to win a gold for the school, but hell, it just wasnt to be lor. hahha acsi had 10 sailors and we had 5, the numerical difference made it super hard already and we were unlucky. haha :(

and well for the c boys, i guess it was darn bad luck that we lost out there because we were leading with a huge lead by the end of day 1 but we eventually lost by 2 points to acsi. arghhh! kns. haha but at least they tried their best la. haahaha

anyway i made many many friends in my sailing journey thus far and lets just say that i dont regret that i put sailing in my choice of cca in sec 1 despite not knowing how to sail and then joining sailing in sec 1 rather than waterpolo, which i only joined in sec 2. because sailing has also been very fulfilling for me and i have forged many strong bonds with the people ive met, especially with my nice sec 1 juniors in sailing this year. hahaha will realy miss you guys despite training only like 1 and a half months with you all. ahah :D and of course, our training partners ij, who helped us so much during training and competition, and the strong bonds of friendship our team has forged with them, as well as helping me rig up my boat always since i dont know how to rig up a byte despite sailing it for 2 years already. hahaha im such a failure!

and a few days back we had our prize presentation for sailing on our ri podium and hahaha i was the person to announce everything so i made it super funny and lame! like kept saying we got 1st....*pause* runner's up and talk about how we "were forced to miss 4 days of school to don school colours" HAHAHA as if i had to be forced to miss school like that. hahaha not bad la.

and recently, in u16 league, ri waterpolo got to play barker but they (mr lim and jiaolian) didnt let me play at all. so that got me really really pissed. cos i really begged them and you know what they did? they laughed at me. hahaha that got me really winded up so i just walked off from the match and went to shower. well you all knew that i really wanted to play that match but dont let me play.. ohwells. dont need me la, very good. i sec 4 already wont see me play in b div next year im unimportant anymore dont need take care of my welfare already. hahaha okay la, dont need me, i dont need you either. thats why i rather spend my time during ri trainings on monday and friday and wednesdays sometimes in the gym training up physically rather than going and wasting my time training with those lousy coaches. haha waste of my time, talent, and brain capacity.

ahaha anyway we have been having cip with visually handicapped kids for the past few weeks and i must say i thoroughly enjoy myself every session. hahaha i am in charge of this guy called john and hes totally blind but that doesnt stop him from having a fantastic sense of humour! haha hes a cool guy and i like talking to him hahaha this is the only times i go to ri pool anyway. ahaha today i got the chance to lead all of the guys to teach the visually handicapped kids how to swim and i guess it was a really big challenge for me because im still a little unsure of their full capabilities, im scared of pushing them too far. but it turned out well la, and i enjoy their company so i hope we have many many more fun times together!

oh yeah, marcus is doing great in campus superstar too! according to him, he didnt sing very well yesterday but still got second highest. so obviously he is a notch above the rest of the contestants and i think he can win! so you guys, all must vote! waterpolo's very own okay! hahaha

and bayley won dramafeste! omg our play was like really really great la hahaha it had the whole audience in raptures! haha first five minutes were only the bayley people laughing (we were trying to generate laughter but it was really too lame in the first 5 mins) then slowly the humour became better and we pulled it off! hahaha we all bayley people sitting together laughed our hearts out and my, it was great! hahah kudos to jotham and cake for putting in all that hard work to make all this possible, and the cast and crew for the bayley dramafeste production "fiveplay" who worked hard till like 10+ for many nights just to grind out the finer details. plus, all the seniors who came back! woochiao, chengyi, hweeleong, zhiyang and boonping among others, you guys deserve it! thank you very much! haha i think buckley should have performed before us because our play kinda totally destroyed their play, because their play is some mellodrama, and coming after our play, which was kinda absurdist and super duper funny, the audience was really high so that kinda killed the whole atmosphere. haha guess they couldnt pull it off so well with the winning team going before them so i guess they were kinda unlucky? but good try anyway!

and recently was mrs d'cruz birthday so we treated her to a birthday dinner at cafe cartel on one of the days. ahaha it was supposed to be a surprise because i got an sms from a young ms d'cruz (through mrs d'cruz phone) telling me that that day was her birthday so we waterpoloers planned it all as a surprise, saying that dinner was to smooth out team issues after we had some argument and fight. hahaha in the end tatwai and jinsei spoilt it all! ahhhhh! they forgot and wished her happy birthday then she smelt a rat! ahhh so wasted. haha but the dinner was great and we had tons of fun talking and reminiscing.

hahaha i love my team :D i want to train hard together with them again (IN RJ) and win a div together in 08 and 09. we are strong man, and i want to keep our team together because we are super bonded as a team and we trust each other, that is the most important. i trust all of them and hope that they feel the same too.

ahaa all hail the champions of rj a div 08 and 09 (:

haha i just came back from a full day of gatherings la had 2L'05 gathering in the morning and we played abit of soccer and talked abit of rubbish and we even saw miss tang! so long never see her already, since last year june. haha 1 year already and she still remembers all of us hahaha well i guess which teacher can forget me? hahha i go back to nanyang primary and all the teachers remember me but dont remember the rest. haha i guess i gave them all a tough time...

hahaah after that was lunch with the 2L'05 guys and they went to catch a movie while i went to find leonad at city hall where we met up before our gems camp cluster 3 gathering. haha

met him at citylink and we went to marina square to go bowling. hahaa all the lanes were full so we were made to go on the waiting list so i went to arcade to play street fighter vs marvel superheroes and i was playing damn pro then had to go cos we got a lane free! hahha so me and leonad played and my my i didnt do that badly for a guy who isnt really into bowling... haha bowled a 78 on my first try then did better with some of leonad's advice and had a 114 on my second try. not bad la for a beginner right! hahaha

then we met the cluster 5 people afterward at the area near carrefour there and we roamed very aimlessly till 6+ where we met other cluster 5 people for starbucks, which we had vouchers for, after winning them at gems camp. hahaha lucky the cluster 6 person not there sia, he very scary. hahaahha talked alot while drinking coffee/chocolate then roamed around esplanade and the bay area then went back to arcade! and this time, i beat the machine! woohoo! stupid machine i thrashed your ass sia! hahahah

anyway we are gonna have waterpolo trainings again in the new term! im going to go for some youth trainings, because they are gonna select a squad to represent singapore at junior asian championships or world juniors i forgot which one la hahaha so i just want to train myself and get into contention. hahha i dont know whether i will want to go whether im selected but i dont think i will la so i just go there and improve myself by training against higher level opposition lor hahha but if i get selected then dilemma lor. hahaha

and sailing nationals is gonna start! essentially, ill go for 3 days of school and only come back on the 9th of july. so i kinda have another 1 half week of mini holidays la, 28th june to 8th july. haahaha envious? :P sailing nats okay! my last chance at winning gold for the school. haha it should be tough la, with acsi being very strong but hey, they are strong every year so we gotta make do with that and sail hard! hahaha i know what my task will be anyway... (:

haha and our u20 competition concluded with a semi final loss to national u20 team 8-5 which i played half a match, and aiyah didnt play exactly very well but the loss wasnt very surprising anyway.. haha they are the national u20 team after all. but not bad la we beat the national u18 team anyway 13-6 wahahahaha thrashing! haha then in the third/fourth playoff, we met combined poly (again) and this time we thrashed them like 18-3 because they played half the match a man down, cos they didnt have enough players. haha but we had sportsmanship la so we played with one man staying back during that time to make it more even. haha after halftime belinda ooi from the national women's team joined them to help even the odds (even though shes from rjc) hahaha but we still ran out 18-3 winners. hahha so we ended the tournamenta s 3rd! haha not bad la. considering its a u20 competition... haha

anyway ill be working hard to regain my fitness and leg power! train train train its back to training if i want to realise my dream of winning a waterpolo gold at nationals. hahaha two years ive played b div and two years we've gotten fourth. hahaha maybe its me, but im ready to change that fact.

hahaha we totally rock! we started off by losing to nat u20 by the score of 4-7, which was very close but in the end we screwed it up. haha i never play that match la cos yihong was there to play the whole match so in the end i just slack one side and watch. how boring! then the next match was against safsa, which i ponned to go sailing training, and they didnt have a keeper so they got slaughtered 21-5! hahaha alex and kennard had to alternate as keepers. hahahaha

then yesterday we played nat u18 and i had to go down and play the entire match. haha i was like really really nervous cos my job was kinda hanging on the line, cos they might dsa a keeper and i really had to put in a fantastic performance to prove my own worth. haha i think i did quite well in the match saved quite a few shots and did myself justice la, and saved a one on one too! hahahah played well la maybe that helped me to retain my job a little... seetow for keeper! anyway its quite ironic that the national u18 team can lose to team raffles whose oldest player is 18 years old and most of us are 16. haha :D

haha today we played combined poly who had the 3 national players in their side, but one of them didnt come. hahaha anyway i think byron is like damn damn damn pro omg i aspire to be like him sia! hahaha hes like really damn pro keeper one on one from wing cannot score against him one! haaha then in the third quarter he came out and played centreman and scored a hell lot of goals omg he is damn pro! ahaha i played two quarters here and not bad la, and i turned a guy from combined poly! we both chiong for the ball i reach first then i turn him omg so fun!



and let me blog about the GEMS camp. i think it was a great experience for me la, not only because of what i learnt there, but because of the friendships and the bonds that i built with others at the camp. hahaha i fit in very well with my cluster and i think we were the most bonded cluster among all the 6 that were there. (actually only got 5 clusters but the 6th cluster is special cluster sia) hahhah

first day was more of introducing us into the GEMS movement and allowing us to get to know our group members more. haha my cluster rocks la everyone is so fun! and our facilitators ally and leonad were both so full of laughter and energy too it kinda infected us all too. haha then day 2 was more of preparing us for the activities in the rest of the days and getting our cluster to work together. and i won a pair of GV movie ticket vouchers! yay! third day was our trip to orchard and we all had alot of fun! our cluster was split into 2 groups and in the end our group won best group award! everyone in the group got 30 bucks starbucks vouchers hahaha and we're going to share wtih our cluster tomorrow! awww so nice. :D

haha then fourth day was our work attachment and i was attached to tangs. it was quite an enriching experience la cos i kinda got to experience the service sector and it taught me quite abit. haha going out of the comfort zone and learning new things lor. then after that we had to get back to republic poly and have buffet dinner then go and prepare some stuff for funfair the next day. hahah stayed till past 10pm then had to go home. hahaha still enjoyed my time there with all of them preparing those materials for the funfair. cluster spirit! and my face appeared in the newspaper sia. hahah

fifth day was the finale, so we all had to go and prepare and guest of honour was grace fu. haha how graceful. okay nevermind! hahaha we had alot of fun talking, enjoying the performance, and i posted some cheem question to the guest of honour just to waste some time so that our funfair doesnt have to be so long. (cos ithought we werent very well prepared) haha then after that we sorta had like a small celebration and had to do alot of crap our cluster were forced to do the banana dance which we didnt do very well la. haha after it all we gave leoand and ally thank you cards (which i bought, thank you very much) and it moved leonad to cry because he was damn touched! hahaha awww :P touching moment for all

hahaha so our journey reached its conclusion here, but hopefully, the bonds that we forged during these 5 days have just been reinforced and will hold for years and years to come. hahaahh the camp rocked!

haha and about sailing, relax la the "oi" on the tagboard. hahaha im kididng only! lol the ij girls all win me sia, even if i cheat and dont round the mark HAHAHA i slack slack slack go nationals i will also slack la. they dont call me the suicide bomber for nothing right! hahaha i know specifically what my job at nationals is la, what i have to do to win ri the gold! haha relax relax man, i think ij girls damn funny. hahah

last training i went, which was tuesday, it was quite fun la, cos there wasnt wind at all so we rigged up our boats and went to slack, like play soccer. then after that we had to do pt which contained alot of pushups and phantom chairs and some hike out drill la hahha but i only did the hike out drill cos i told jiaolian i got competition the next day dont want my muscles to ache mah. hahaah so i laughed at all the guysa nd girls while they were doing and i think everyone hates me for that! :'(

haha then after doing all that pt the wind picked up and jiaolian forced us all to go out. haha the one stop centre guys told us not to go out because it was cat 1 already but jiaolian still forced us to go out. so naturally, i was damn scared. (haha i damn lousy lei) so i saw like the kayakers were coming back so i went to help them recover their boats and slacked off alot of training while the wind was damn strong. hahah ernest and chaixun slacked with me till jiaolian came back then we had to launch with the girls lor. hahaha slack la, slack la!

then after training we came back to shore then jiaolian made all those who launched late have to do 100 pushups! haha but i didnt have to do cos i had competition the next day. haha im some number 1 slacker la no one can beat me! heehee

and after bathing and changing we wanted to get out of saf changi clubhouse but the road outside had a fatal accident! hahah so we couldnt get a lift from anyone at all. so in the end we ri guys had a very brilliant idea, which was to WALK OUT. haah so we walked, and walked, and walked, and walked for about an hour before the cars all cleared and we were like okay wtf hahaha everyone tired already. hahah well at least the girls were singing some songs so that helped to alleviate the fatigue a little... hahahaha then we just sat down at the road side like mangkalis and all of us disbanded and 5 of us had to get to bishan so we waited very patiently for a cab to agree to take 5 people. haha some idiot driver wanted to take us if we paid 50% extra. HAHA SCREW OFF! anyway we found a nice taxi driver and took a cab to bishan, got a little something to eat and went home. hahah woah damn tired.

haha then i wore my ankle out damn badly on tuesday that the match on wednesday against nat u18s i couldnt jump very high cos my right ankle was damn pain. haha but i still played well la hahaha and im damn happy i played well! in front of saimeng too, whos gonna be our rj coach next year. so i hope i left a favourable impression... :D my job depends on it!

hi everyone! sorry for not updating for so long, had alot of stuff on hand lar...

haha anyway, great news for me! u20 competition is on next monday, 11th of june and im playing for rj! hip hip hooray! i get another chance to show them how pro seetow#1 can be. haha i really want to do well but im damn out of shape (literally) and i cant train for the whole of next week monday to friday because of some gems camp. stupid peng made me do it for him damn im so nice lar. haha so ill have to train tomorrow (sunday leh wth) plus next saturday and sunday to prepare myself. not very good preparation but better than nothing lar. after all, i won interhouse waterpolo! haha so shouldnt be too bad lar in terms of reflexes and everything ohwells hope it goes well hahaha.

haha and i start training for sailing interschools already hope we can do well lar its like my last chance to do something for ri. haha i know i cant win individual honours at sailing interschools so i know what my job will be, the kamikaze bomber hahahaha so self sacrificial. LOL i wouldnt mind getting last overall if we got team first, seriously. hahha anyway i just went training yesterday and it was quite fun, whole day training, mainly because large parts of it had no wind.

haha we went there first and reached around 830am (at which point i went to play the arcade machine and spent 4 tokens there, and reached the final and second onslaught before i got narrowly beaten 4 out of 4 times grrr) haha then we went to rig up under hu jiaolian's orders and in the end we convinced him not to go out cos it was damn damn no wind conditions. so we went to slack in the pool and slack slack slack and eat lunch till it was about 1230 hahahaha.

then the wind picked up like siao till it was crazy, about 20 knots like that hahahha even i so heavy also damn scared! haha so he asked the ri guys only to launch and the ij girls didnt have to launch so we were like walao he damn bad want guys to die only the girls dont have to die. haha kevin and eugene launched first and capsized soon after so me, ernest, caixun and jordan were all damn scared so after jianying launched we all slacked on shore till the wind died down abit then we went out haahaha (it was my idea...) lol so we successfully avoided certain death lar hahaha

then by the time i went out, the wind died down totally, which kinda sucked cos i then proceeded to lose to all the girls other than one or two who must really suck if they can lose to me in light wind conditions (considering my weight! hahaaha) anyway after that i really couldnt move so i switched with nathan and i slacked on the powerboat all the way back to shore haahaha i think jiaolian purposely make me switch cos he want slack and he want someone strong enough to pullup the anchors of the buoys hahaha so he ask me. child labour lar! haha

haha anyway i like sailing with ij tp, not because got girls lar (im not that desperate pls) haha but because i most likely wont get last hahaaha because i like to cheat mah then laugh hahaha so my ego wouldnt be battered so badly during sailing training i see behind me got two girls then "at least i beat someone..." hahahaha i guess im easily contented...



haha anyway news news. scott parker is gonna leave for west ham from newcastle in an 8 mil pounds deal. that treacherous asshole give him newcastle captainship give him so many things he still want leave newcastle wth bloody traitor i hate him for life i curse west ham lose the independent tribunal and get relegated to championship. so see you scott parker in championship next season! wahahhaha dumbass!

and on another note, newcastle may be getting joey barton for 5 mil to replace him. or nigel reo coker from west ham who would cost as much as parker but be younger than parker. haha so i guess losing such a asshole loser as parker isnt that big a problem lar hahaha. stupid idiot

haha anyway we have a fantastic manager now!

heard hes gonna get an amazing defender in tal ben haim on a free transfer and powerful striker mark viduka on a free transfer too! omg i really love him please please bring us to the top 5 next season thats where we belong (ahead of blood traitors jenas and parker)! haha and i heard konchesky might be coming to newcastle to fill in the left back void and maybe mario melchiot might come in at right back too! omg i really hope so! hahaah and i hope owen doesnt leave, oba doesnt leave, nzog doesnt leave, taylor doesnt leave. haha they form the core of the team! hahaha and that kinda concludes all of what i have to say. hahaha

anyway, next few days ill be kinda unavailable because tomorrow night ill be staying at safyc changi clubhouse chalet hahahaha spending the night with four other guys - eugene, jianying and kevin. haha what a gay affair. hahaha then monday to friday i got gems camp (which is a day camp lar so relac ill be coming home) and on monday night im going watch marcus' campus superstar recording! haha best of luck my brudder we raffles waterpoloers rule!

i am just so much more volatile nowadays, like i get pissed so damn easily. i used to be an ever smiling person, someone who would carry a smile on his face all the time. but now, inside i feel so empty i feel so screwed up. like a volcano waiting to explode.

last few days i was copying paul's work during physics class because eunice tay didnt want to let us off till we finished our physics problem so i showed her so that i could slack during recess then she asked whether i copied then i said yes then she told me to explain it to her so i went to discuss it with daniel lee and bentay then i wanted to explain how to do it to her then when i went up to her she started screaming random rubbish at me and started scolding me by screaming. and i got damn pissed lar i mean everyone is copying you want me explain then okay lar i understand i want explain to you THEN YOU BLOODY SCREAM AT ME. i was so damn pissed i just muttered "anything" and walked off. then she got damn pissed with me and the nextday she called up my mom and said all the bad stuff about me. like wtf eunice tay really is some shit lar i dont mind her seeing this I TELL YOU EUNICE TAY I HAVE LOST ALL RESPECT FOR YOU. YOU ARE NOT MY TEACHER, shithead.

so now my mom is very pissed with me after eunice tay bitch to her all the shit so ohwells i care uhh only her folly to believe a stupid bitch lar anyway my life is so damn screwed now she thinks im so useless shit who doesnt know shit and now she wants to do everything to me. she cuts my computer time, my tv time, my pocketmoney, and she wants to ban me from training waterpolo. like come on, waterpolo is what i love cant you just stay off and dont take away my passion? without waterpolo i am nothing, it is my identity that ties me to raffles, to my friends. damn it lar damn eunice tay!

i damn proud of this team! again in the final, we fought back from being a goal down to triumph over buckley! hahaha the team that we had come from 2 goals down in the preliminaries to draw 2-2! hahaha im damn proud of our players!

before the match, when i was giving them a peptalk, i was telling them about how this could very well be my last waterpolo match they had better give me their 100% and no less and whatever the result i would be happy, and to fight for bayley, to fight for me. and i started crying because i really wanted to end it off on a good note, like my swansong maybe. and give me their 100% they did. our first team was made up of me, tom, our angmoh power mateusz, ziyao, and edene, justin and kenneth. edene justin and kenneth are sec 2 swimmers and mateusz is a non poloer and swimmer and ziyao a sec 4 swimmer, but is just about the nicest ever guy you can find, and polo is a sport of aggression. player for player, we were weaker. but weaker only on paper. but when it came down to the wire, it was the mental toughness of our team that counted. we had trained together much more than buckley and it showed, with superb teamwork. aha you rock guys!

we came back during the preliminaries from 1 goal down to beat morrison 3-2 (thanks to a superb full court shot from who? who? the keeper!) and came from 2 goals down to draw buckley 2-2. and again, when it realy mattered, our mental strength showed again. after going one goal down we managed to claw our way back into the match and showed them who really had the stronger mental character. and we fought like true men. all the teachers who were there were damn impressed and mr edward ng (a senior HOD) was shouting his guts out for us. i guess true spirit does move people. hahaha

after the match, i talked to them again and thanked all of them for putting in that extra effort when it mattered again and i started sobbing again because for anyone of you who dont know me, waterpolo is my life, its my identity, its my game. and the feeling was just too overwhelming hahaha i guess im a very emotional person! hahaha anyway thank you very much guys if you all are reading this because i really owe you all a big one, for coming down to all the trainings i held, for fighting so damn hard to get us in the finals... (alot of houses thought we didnt deserve it because man for man, our team is the 4th strongest only) and for fighting your guts out in the final and touching the hearts of even the teachers in that final. i thank you all for fighting for this dream of mine too.




ohh and i played basketball too and i played half of of the first two games and we won both then i had to get a good rest before polo so i couldnt play anymore haha we got 2nd! which is great cos moor was kinda unbeatable their whole team ful of basketballers hahahaha anyway we did well! yay!!!

haha its just sad you know, i put in so much, and there is no faith in me. i put it so much, ive loved it so much, its my life you know. and no faith is shown in me im kicked to the side like a little pebble, a little stopgap measure. is just that little bit of faith too much to show? i put my heart my soul into it and it just sucks la, really.

haha yay we qualified for interhouse waterpolo finals on the 11th!

i seriously didnt think we would do very well in the interhouse waterpolo competition after the rule change and everything but we all fought our hardest, and despite not having the strongest team, only having one sec 4 swimmer whos not exactly the strongest (but definitely the most skilful of all the sec 4 swimmers), and filling the team with sec 2 swimmers. haha so our entry to the final was quite unexpected to say the least, and i think i was quite on form too. and we had a surprise package in mateusz benedict our foreign talent player from poland who doesnt train waterpolo but shoots like a pro hahaha well good job to bayley!


first match was hullett vs bayley. score: 0-4

it was good to play the supposedly weakest team (sorry guys from hullett) first because it gave our team a chance to gel and a chance to get into the groove, to get a feel of the ball. so we ended winning by a comfortable margin of 4-0 and got everyone into the game, starting to feel the ball and pass the ball around. haha highlight of the game as a keeper was when suddenly out of the blue jonny just rammed a shot damn top corner then i wasnt paying attention! luckily i was able to jump and tip it out or else id be embarrassed! hahaha


second match was morrison vs bayley. score: 2-3

this was the toughest match of all, because it pitted our sec 2 swimmers against their sec 4 swimmers, with the school players from both sides very evenly matched. on the bayley team was me and tom, keeper and centreback, whilst on the other team was brian he and shangcong, keeper and centreforward. haha so quite evenly matched but although at the start their sec 4 swimmers came in droves and overwhelmed us, our sec 2 swimmers edene, justin, kenneth and wenwei coped well and put in solid defensive performances. however, they did not count on mateusz who scored from almost half court area to equalise after we had gone down by 1 goal early on. then morrison got awarded a penalty and i was unable to stop jianying from scoring from that penalty. then tom equalised and right at the death, we nicked the win when i just crazily rammed the ball across the pitch without trying to lob or anything, just power it and it bounced quite luckily past brian. ful court goal ftw! and it ended up being the winning goal :) very proud of the guys who rallied from being 1 goal down at each time to eventually win the match!


next match was buckley vs bayley. score: 2-2

this match was the match we arguably played our worst. and we are gonna face buckley again in the final and i think they kinda figured out our gameplan already so we might be at a disadvantage in the finals but heck we are gonna pia! haha brandon scored and ornan scored before tom equalised with two goals of his own, the last coming in the last few seconds. haha and i saved brandon's lob and top corner bounce! hahaha :P our sec 2 swimmers again were superb defensively and completely shut out the people they were supposed to be marking during the second quarter. great job guys!


last match was moor vs bayley. score: 0-5

we had to at least draw this match to be sure of progressing to the final and boy, was this a classic. classic showdown between the two houses who were fighting for a place in the final. this match was a match we could not lose and mateusz made sure of it. he scored 2 goals in the first quarter and ziyao added another magnificent goal of his own to go 3-0 up by the end of the first quarter. by then, things started to get dirty. jiahao started to go on a rampage and started whacking people, and causing people to get hurt. apparently, moor team was quite incensed by the fact that i did not help them pick a ball that was about 2m away from me and pass it to them. haha how naive to think that way... when it is an opponent's foul the very first and foremost thing you should do is to raise both hands to show that you are not touching their ball, if you touch it (at nationals), you get ejected straight away. so i wasnt gonna commit that mistake nor was i about to give them an advantage by passing it to them... anyway we went 4-0 up and i started to slow down the tempo, passing the ball around my defence before it was passed back to me again and jiahao just chionged at me, i took foul, and he elbowed my face, our eyes connected he looked at me i looked at him, then he punched me in the stomach. like wtf man. anyway i forgive him i wont hold grudges because i know that when it comes to a game, people like him are very competitive but outside of it, we are friends. so im okay with it. anyway we eventually won 5-0 mateusz scored 4, ziyao scored 1. haha so we got into final this way.


many people see it as if we do not deserve to be in the finals. but i tell you why we do deserve. perhaps other people are sore that we do not have the strongest team of players but we still got into the finals. we had half a team of sec 2 swimmers, a player who did not swim nor play waterpolo, a sec 4 swimmer and two school waterpolo players. we did not seem strong individually but we played well as a team and we fought hard as individuals, and no one can claim that we do not deserve a place in the final (without lying or being dumb). we played a direct gameplan (my gameplan! very pro right...), played like chelsea (though i dont like them), and won our matches. contrary to what others think, we did not bend nor break the rules we just played by them and sometimes, we were lucky to have gotten favourable decisions by the ref. but hey, not our fault you cant fault us on that maybe its because we play totally non-violent waterpolo thats why decisions go our way most of the time.. after all its interhouse and we are not supposed to whack one another underwater or something like that right! anyway, we are in the final! see you on 11th may :)

and btw, omg i can do 31sec for 50 free! hahaha considering i dont train swimming, nor do i swim during polo trainings (i just tread water all day long), it is a good timing!

you know, ive always wondered... two years down the road, three years down, 10 years down. will what i have done in waterpolo here in raffles affect what will be done throughout those years? will i leave a lasting legacy? how has my involvement in waterpolo for raffles changed or shaped the cca for what it is today and what it will become tomorrow?

one of the practices of The Leadership Challenge is to leave a legacy, and i wonder what legacy i have left or what legacy i can leave for my juniors to continue or to surpass. it strikes me that having given up 4-5 days a week of my life for 2 years just to train waterpolo, i havent had anything to show for it, i havent left anything behind to allow others to follow. what legacy have i left or what legacy can i leave?

i wonder, what i have trained so hard for 2 years for. to get suaned by a stupid musical group who get top 20 in singapore while we got 4th in singapore? why, even outram are better than them they got 6th in singapore! why did i train so hard for 2 years?

everytime i think about it i get so damned pissed like who gave them the bloody right to criticise our achievements. by criticising our achievements they are in turn criticising our efforts, our process. who are they to bloody criticise us when we train at least 5 times a week and they? they stepped up their training to a very intensive 3 times a week during holidays WOW im so impressed laaaa

its just insensitive people like these who get me down. just when i thought i was accepting it for what it is when such comments came in that really hurt me it brought back all the pain that i had experienced thats why i so damn hate you you understand or not you retard. gold so what i dont give a shit you are only top 20 in singapore but we are top 4 in singapore no basis for comparison at all.

i love being raffles! 3 golds in 2 days who says our sports suck?

SEE THAT CO? we sports are more than capable of achieving gold, and this gold is achieved by being the top school in the nation, not just one of the 20+ schools who got gold (according to a friend) hahah go ri sports groups and syf groups!

yesterday, our table tennis c boys won us our first REAL gold of the year, after battling to a 3-1 win over cat high in the final! yaye for those guys who were involved they really did us proud, especially c boys bringing back our first gold. then today it was us b boys' turn to turn on the style, winning the cross country b div gold and trampoline b div gold! hahah come on ri sportsmen, these successes are for all of you! and in sports, if you are in the top 4 in the country, you get 4th. but for CO... even though their chairman pointed out they got gold, their gold is gotten from being the top 20 in country. wow impressive! (to cake: sorry man this last time k!)

anyway nice one guys i love raffles! this is the feeling of being raffles man. anyway looks like holiday is forthcoming from the ever generous mr mag (who is very handsome if he ever chances upon this blog so that he would give us more half days)

and today i went to swim tons and tons at my condo pool! okay it was tons and tons for me since i hate swimming laps but for swimmers its chicken feet but hey im still training myself to have even stronger stamina so i can last at my peak for all four quarters during a game rather than getting fatigued hahaha

yeah rimb didnt get honours! like walaoooo how can that be.

i think our batch of raffles is screwing up quite badly now i dont know why sports quite bad now even musical groups quite bad. haha co have been celebrating like mad that they got gold (when theres always this prize called gold with honours) but theirs isnt really an achievement considering that gold is shared by like 20+ schools and i heard from a very "credible" source that this year gold standard is like last syf's silver standard. yup. proud for what? suan us sports groups for what? go to hell la you all have no standard no basis of comparison with us. we sports group are top 4 in country top 6 in country. CO? top 20+ in country. OMG IMPRESSIVE LAAAA

today i went to look for the mr leo guy the psychologist after putting it off for so long because like even when i look like im already okay but i cant get over waterpolo. no more dream, nothing else to fight for. and the thing that i fought for we eventually screwed it up so i went to look for that psychologist guy to talk to then he talk talk talk about it well it was rather good la haha i think hes a cool guy! then he gave me some help in trying to get over the loss of the season and stuff like that so it was good!

today's math test i think i screwed it up because i didnt really practice much. i practiced abit during tuition but that was all! haha i spent yesterday studying time staring at equations trying to memorise them and today i spent my time to study staring at those same equations because i realised that i forgot most of the equations after a good night's rest HAHA well so i guess i didnt do very well la. if i pass, id say id be fortunate. i didnt calculate how many marks i lost already cos that would be quite demoralising hahaha

today i went back to train again i realised i lost quite abit of my sharpness already and interhouse is this friday! AHHHH hahaha anyway if i cant regain the sharpness then i let kaiyu play la nevermind i dont play after all kaiyu never played interhouse polo before let him play lor :) im so nice! haha

okay anyway cheer up all rimb guys la you all worked hard for this already the standard of gold is like the standard of honours in last year's syf so dont worry okay you all worked hard put in your best so have no regrets! : D STUPID CO. i think CO sucks (with the exception of cake)
