howay the lads.
newcastle 1-0 wigan.
what more can i say? ecstatic about the result :) and yeah finally, a league goal at st james' park since feb! and who is it scored by? michael "mercenary" owen! maybe he will finally come good on his promise to bring toon fans better things in the near future and put our club back in europe! howay the toon (:
great win for newcastle and after 4 games, we are still unbeaten! we are a club on the rise, ole ole ole ole! last night was transfer deadline, and though we sold nobby the toon legend for a nominal fee to west ham and promising defender paul huntington to leeds, we got abdoulaye faye from bolton and marseille captain habib beye to plug the gap at right back! looking forward to seeing greater things ahead at the toon :D
and yesterday we went to watch ratatouille at bishan! funny funny show and i thoroughly enjoyed it i must say, even as i find myself deviating away from cartoons nowadays and going for shows with comic relief like rush hour 3 and mr bean's holiday but yeah it was a fantastic show nonetheless. hahahaha
ooh and we also made a nicenicenicenicenice teachers' day present for janus!!! very nice one :D we bought a big big box at mini toons and filled it up with newspapers and rocks, then put an opti paddle in the middle of it all (hopefully he will lug it all the way home, it being heavy and all) and the opti paddle has all the messages we want to say to him. hahaha we had a lot of fun making it :D
and yesterday was guitar concert! it was really fun! especially the rock band part, slau was just fantastic! no one thought that slau could have such a fantastic voice other than those of us who know him, but yeah, now everyone knows! congrats slau, you pwn everyone! haahha :D
and of course theres hiok with his great performance! he was also very sweet when he gave his girlfriend a rose halfway through the performance :) so nice right! hahaha hiokk ^^
actually, i think a guitar sounds nicer when played individually as compared to being played in an ensemble.. but yet again, i dont know, as i have a very limited knowledge in music, having only a grade 7 in piano but knowing nuts about music. hahaha anyway it was still very fun!
and i have a sinking feeling that somebody is pissed with me. can you just tell me if you pissed with me? i dont knowww. WHY?
hahaha and anyway a shout out to all the teachers of mine out there whom i like. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING ME THROUGHOUT THE YEARS AND GUIDING ME ALONG THE WAY. i could never have done it
... WITHOUT YOU ...
hahaha (poetry slam anyone?)

more than a 30 point victory.
wow i can finally blog about this.

BAYLEY HOUSE WINS HOUSE CHAMPIONSHIPS BY 30 POINTS WITH A TOTAL SCORE OF 130 POINTS! WOOHOO!
one whole year of work really did pay off!
man, it feels great just to win, just to have that justification for all your efforts. but then again, its not saying that those houses who did not win did not put in the effort. i guess they did well too! because can see that this year, all houses worked very hard and stuff so i guess yeah there really are no losers here (THOUGH THERE IS A VERY CLEAR WINNER) and we should all be proud of what we have achieved in this year.
oh and look at the number of firsts in the sports department! bayley won 5 out of 9 sports! including waterpolo :D waterpolo interhouse was a great experience cos my players trained very hard under me and we pwned all the other houses. then there was basketball interhouse when everyone played very hard and we got second place for b div. alot of memories fly back when i try to recollect such events, and its great to think that having toiled hard in the year, it is great to reap such rewards. i hope bayley house can build on it this year and win it again next year! (though by not so big a margin.. i would like to be remembered as being part bayley that won by an unprecedented 30 points)
and of course, winning the house championship is definitely not only the exco. every exco works just as hard as the other, but the people that truly make the difference are the house members, and i am proud to say that we bayley have the best members in the whole of ri. especially the sec 1s! they are the best batch of bayleyeans i have ever seen, seriously. they are the most proactive, most enthusiastic, and friendliest bunch! no wonder we all can get along together very well. haha maybe one of the many many things that i will miss when i graduate from ri will be our very own bayley sec 1s. and of course, ill definitely miss bayley. the callups, the teams, the trainings, the teamtalks, basically just the whole experience of being bayley.
but one thing i know i wont forget, is the spirit of bayley house. it is a spirit of excellence, the strong drive for success, and the ability to push oneself beyond what we think is humanely possible just to win it for the house. and i know i will not forget the experience of winning, because we will carry it to rjc with bayley-waddle.
so come on new challenge, let us take you on.
gloria illustris semper
ill never forget the year of the lion.

the memories.
was searching through my computer and some websites for my old waterpolo pictures to put in to my english oral defence, and some dead and buried memories and feelings suddenly cropped up again. i really feel as if i have something missing from my life nowadays when i dont go to waterpolo training anymore, when i just spend my time on mondays, tuesdays, wednesdays, and fridays at the gym or at home having a short nap. it really is different, and somehow, it aint right.
i remember this time last year, when we were already training 4 or 5 times a week to keep our dreams of winning the gold for ri alive. everyday i would reach home at least 6+ in the evening and struggle to do my work because i would come back from training feeling very exhausted and fatigued.
perhaps, we look at our results (4th for nationals) and wonder to ourselves, was all the hours, days and months we put in for training really worth it? if you asked me then, i would say, definitely, it was worth it. you ask me now, and i would still give you the same answer, yes, it has been definitely bloody worth it.
found this while searching through RInspire (our school magazine) for my articles on sailing and waterpolo, and indeed, as tom said, we raffles waterpolo team of 2007, really are one huge family, working together towards that dream of finally lifting that cup.
haha okay enough random rambling from me, so let me just conclude this short moment of reflection with a picture.
botak seetow!!!

come on say it with me! who are sitting proudly atop the english premier league table now? huh? who? who?
hahaha its newcastle united of course! with a 3-1 win at reebok stadium, home to bolton, in the bag, the premiership's top position is finally ours! hahaha and i remember the last time we topped the premiership back in season 03-04, we finished an eventual third in the premiership, qualifying for europe. now isnt that a good omen or what!
big sam's methods are working! wheeee! and he has instillled a new belief in the squad, getting people who will work for their wages, like geremi, barton and smith just to name a few.
and he has also finally tried out zoggy at left back, something i have wanted roeder to do for a very long time. hahaha he looked stable out there so thats great! perhaps he could provide jose enrique with some good competition for that position. haha
zoggy played super well today too. he scored one and created another for oba. and oba scored two, including an emphatic bicycle kick! yay!
omg im so excited. hahaha howay the lads! and 07-08 will be our season to shine! yay for newcastle!
